Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and broadcaster/comedian Richard Hunter talk to the biggest names in mixed martial arts, discussing the latest news in the sport of MMA.
In the immediate aftermath of being notified by USADA that he has tested positive for a banned substance, Frank Mir discusses the situation in depth exclusively on his podcast.
This is not the end Frank!!! It's just the beginning. This is not in your control. There is nothing u can do different or should of done differently. Do NOT beat yourself up. Your fighting career is not over... It's time to open a training center of your own with the wife and kids and to start training the next generation of fighters using all the knowledge you have learned and passing it on... What matters is you believe you, your wife and kids believe u and your family and friends and supporters believe you... You have too much knowledge to just take it and walk away... Please think about sharing all your know

Richard, thanks again for another good podcast even though we are under a different circumstance. There is a lot of chatter on the east about this and I even a few video by the fitness industry pointing to a MMA legend who tested positive for PEDS so it has vastly reached outside the MMA world overnight. You asked some tough questions and major props to Frank for giving what I think are truthful answers.
I think Frank 100% unknowingly somehow ingested this substance. Personally, I eat no-hormone meat & poultry bc I don't know what they are putting in our food and I think if you are a professional athlete you have to assume that if it doesn't come from your kitchen, maybe just a few frequent local restaurants, or team Mir's inner circle than it's tainted. We could be at that point. I know he was in Australia and it's hard not to indulge in different foods. This could be ground breaking if Mir pushes with his management team from a legal angle. Could be the first case of investigating meat products from Australia like you guys mentioned happened in Mexico.
I stand by Frank as a devoted fan. He has given so much to the fan base and now it's time for us to give back to Frank with due process and support for whatever the outcome may be. I'm hoping he fights this somehow as I would love to see Frank in the Octagon again. I agree with the other poster that Gonzaga or Struve would be a great opponent.
Thanks again,

My name is Nicholas Maher, I am 22 years old and have lived in Brisbane Australia my whole life. Frank Mir has been my all time favorite Mixed Martial Artist since I found the sport in 2007, when I first got an internet access haha. I am a fan of his approach to both fighting, and life. The first true role model in my life, might sound odd coming from a kid in Australia. But when I saw that he was coming to Fight in Brisbane, it was a dream come true. It was an absolute honor to see him for his time in Brisbane, I will always remember it, never thought I'd get a chance to see him in real life, let alone fighting. I was in full support of him continuing his career until he himself decided to stop, I believe him when he talks about the USADA issue. If it truly was his last fight, then it has been an honor watching his career, I've ordered every PPV he's been on since 2007, never stopped being my favorite. Good luck to you Sir, if FOX has any sense at all, or the UFC, they should get you working in some sort of position putting that awesome mind to work. All the best Frank.

Just look at Overeems body Vs Lesnar to what he looks like now, guy was jacked but he was one of the smarter guys who got off the juice ahead of the tighter drugs testing, sorted himself out & now he is in a position to be heading for a title shot while some of the others are suddenly a shadow of their former self.

Some hard words to ear, that'll be thougt for Mir, facing two years without fighting, anything else i believe in my prefeer's UFC fighter, in my opinion he's innocent.

I really hope this gets straightened out fast! There's got to be a different to figure out things like this.
